Owning a firearm and knowing how to use it properly and safely can save the lives of your family and yourself. Having a cellular phone in your home allows you to call 911 even if your phone lines have been cut. You do not have to be connected to a service to call 911. Carrying two cans of Fix-A-Flat will usually get your tire aired up enough for you to drive to a service station and get the tire repaired. Why sit on the side of the road like a target, wrestling with changing a tire? Don’t leave yourself at the mercy of strangers. Carrying a cell phone allows you to call for help in the event of trouble while on the road. Carry spare fuses in your car for things like windshield wipers and lights. If someone is following you, slow down. This allows you better control of your vehicle if they hit you trying to force you off the road. Do not go home. Drive to a law enforcement agency or a place where there are a lot of people and lights. Know what is going on in the lives of the people around you. They may be targets and you need to be prepared to defend yourself if you are nearby when trouble strikes. Carrying your handgun on your person at all times, (following your local laws for concealed carry), enables you to have rapid access to it in the event of an emergency. When out in public, always be aware of who is around you and your vehicle. If someone is lurking nearby or following you, go for help. Better to appear foolish and scared, than to be a victim. If you need help when out in public, YOU pick the person you want to help you. Do not accept the help of a person who walks up to you. Be aware of the body language of others. This will often clue you in to their intentions. Don’t let strangers approach you. Not for directions, the time, nothing. Be rude if you have to. If they come within 21 feet of you, they can be on you before you can draw a weapon. Don’t park next to service vans with side opening doors to the back of the van. Avoid people and situations that make you uncomfortable. Your eyes, ears, brain and natural instinct are your primary survival tools. Use them. For more safety information visit us HERE. |
