Introduction to Shooting for Women

On September 29th, Massachusetts Second Amendment Sister's held their 6th annual Ladies Learn to Shoot Day at the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club.

After a briefing on firearms safety, the women had the chance to shoot pistols, small-bore and high-power rifles, shotguns, blackpowder arms, and bows throughout the day.  The event was a sell-out and several participants came back in October to qualify for their LTCs.

Our volunteer instructors included women from Massachusetts Second Amendment Sisters, the always-enthusiastic members of the Braintree Rifle and Pistol club, Boston Gun and Rifle Association, and other good friends from the firearm community. Special thanks also to David Hardiman and Don Halloon from the Mass Wildlife and Fisheries' "Becoming An Outdoor Woman" program for their superb expertise on the archery range.

This is the 6th year in row the Braintree Rifle and Pistol club opened up their facilities and ranges to SAS for the day.  Ammunition was kindly provided by Tite-Group Shooting Sports in Northborough.  In addition Women and Guns and the Second Amendment Foundation provided magazines, informational literature, and various 'goodies.'

A special thanks to our "Sassy Chefs" who made the trip all the way from Virginia for the 4th year in a row!
