- Coming this
summer--SAS home firearm safety clinic for women
near Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Check back for details!
- Any Public Event!
Please
Wear SAS-wear (tee shirts, hats) and use SAS mugs,
buttons, etc. to spread the word about our organization--and
to raise funds, since we are a 100% volunteer organization.
We have the potential to have an even stronger voice at the
Maryland state house. Merchandise can be purchased
here
and part of the cost goes to our state
fund to pay for our website, mailings, tax work, badges to
wear in legislative sessions, etc. We also have a
banner that we can place on a booth, table, or wall at
events. The banner is light, and can also be carried
or held by 2 people at a march or rally.
- Women On Target
events are scheduled through Monumental Rifle
and Pistol Club [SAS member site] on a regular basis spring
through fall. SAS members are invited to assist with
events. These are great fun and a wonderful learning
opportunity for attendees. See calendar with links to
details
here.

DC v. Heller (DC Gun Ban) Supreme Court
Hearing
SAS-MD led a demonstration in
support of Dick Anthony Heller, whose loss of rights led to DC
v. Heller, at the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
Maryland members Bonnie
Crandall-Hall, Ken Aldrich, Helen Monath, and Greg
Marsh
were instrumental in making this day a huge success, as was
Rob Weaver, who crafted signs and designed supports for the
national and Maryland banners.
We were joined by SAS's
president, Mari Thompson (TX); national spokeswoman, Genie
Jennings (ME); and other SAS coordinators and members from
across the U.S.
Thank you to everyone who
supported Mr. Heller's natural right to self defense:
Maryland Shall Issue ("blue hats"), MDSHOOTERS.COM, The Tyranny
Response Team, The Firearms Coalition, the Virginia Citizens
Defense League, The Revolutionary War Veterans Association,
Twelfth Precinct Pistol Club, Monumental Rifle and Pistol Club,
The Rally Point-Blue Ridge, and DC residents and friends who are
clear the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights guarantees
Heller's individual right to keep and bear arms "shall not be
infringed." If we left you or your group out, please
email us! And please share your pictures of the
event with us!
Outcome:
June 26, 2008, SCOTUS ruled in favor of Mr. Heller!
Congratulations to Mr. Heller and the citizens of Washington,
DC!
